Complicated road traffic law for the bike rider
There is a complicated law to understand for riding on the road in Japan.
How many rules do you know ?
For example:
Basic
- Ride on left side of the road. ( not in the side walk )
- Stop in front of the stop line accompanied by a sign.
- When you intend to turn right, cross the street first and stop once. Then cross the street towards your original direction which you want to go.
- Don’t ride in the side walk other than the high risk condition in case of riding on the road.
On the other hand, you have to follow the rules as well when you drive a car.

- You need to spare the enough distance between bike and car when you pass through the bike.
- When you pass through the bike, don’t go beyond the yellow center line of the road.
- If when someone waited at the crosswalk regardless the walker or bike rider who doesn’t straddle the saddle, you have to stop once for the safety.
